"Best known for their 1967 album on the Mainstream label, the band acquired a cult following in recent years due to the astounding range of music present on their LP. We're happy to report that their new release, "Time and Again," is just as eclectic and amazing as their original album." - The Lance Monthly
"After thirty-something years they released a second album, "Time and Again" to an audience that sneaked in through an Internet portal and exalted the Bandits to a semi-cult status...it is testimony that there exists an appetite for something more substantial than test-tube tunes." - Gypsies of Different Times
"The new recordings find them as a modern day, roots-conscious band..." - Ugly Things Magazine
"Ahhh...just beautiful! Hopefully these guys will bring us a third album long, long before A.D. 2035 rolls around..." - Dead Flowers Monthly Music Picks
"...their hearts are still in the music and they prove that you don't have to be a teenager to make - and enjoy - music." - Bliss Aquamarine Album Reviews
The CD That Fans And Collectors Asked For

Fans who remember us onstage from four decades ago and packing places like the Trade Winds Nightclub in Newburgh, New York, the Buccaneer Nightclub in Poughkeepsie, New York and the Red Dog in Burlington, Vermont asked if we had any live recordings of us doing what we did best - bar band renditions of Sixties rock and roll.
This tape was recorded when we were known as The Mirror, just before we signed a contract with Mainstream Records and changed our name to The Jelly Bean Bandits. The CD is live, ragged around the edges and packed with the energy of a young group - which we were back in 1967. We left some of the stage chatter in to make it like you were spending a night at the Buccaneer with the Bandits.

THE JELLY BEAN BANDITS - Mirror Music (JBB, CD) Salvaged with glorious results from an ancient reel-to-reel tape, Mirror Music presents the Jelly Bean Bandits live-in-the-moment on Septernber 3. 1967 at their six-nights-a-week stomping ground. The Buccaneer Club in Poughkeepsie, New York. "It was a musicians' bootcamp that turned us from irritating out-of-tune amateurs to cyclonic proto-punks with a pleasant disregard for everything, they explain in the liners. "And it made us a band."
Sure enough. This isn't just another pimply neighborhood Garage band routine. the Bandits had their chops down tight. with a rhythm section that knew how to cook. After kicking' off with a blazing version of "Black Is Black" they plough through a selection of crowd pleasers, including boss soul workouts ("Mustang Sally," "Soulfinger"), down-home R&B ("Walking the Dog"). garage punk nuggets ("Little Bit of Soul," "Night Time") and smash hit staples ("Satisfaction," "She'd Rather He With Me"), all delivered with appropriate gusto. There's also u ore surprising selections, including a wild cover of the Blues Project! Middle Class-associated ~Wake Me. Shake Me~, a powerfully climactic "I who have Nothing~ and their own classy ballad "Another August Revisited". The jokey between song banter, ragged hacking vocals and warts'n'all live mix only add to the authentic atmosphere. Four months later, with 1968 only a few hours old, the Buccaneer burned to the ground, ending the Bandits' 26-week run a house band. Luckily this tape survives and is both musically and sonically excellent.
