BANDITS REUNION CONCERT, APRIL 22, 2001

It was the second time since their breakup in 1968 that the Jelly Bean Bandits appeared together onstage. The afternoon show was at Seafood City (the former Coliseum Restaurant in Newburgh, N.Y.) and had a packed house of old friends and fans.

The show was to celebrate Time and Again, their first new recording since 1968's iconic (and extensively bootlegged worldwide) recording on Mainstream Records.

Frank Clarino provided the sound for the show and introduced the group who kicked off with "Gimme Some Lovin" heard here. Even though the song was recorded on a consumer camcorder, the tape witnesses the fact that the Bandits still had it.

All proceeds of the reunion concert went to the American Cancer Society.

ANIMAL RESCUE SONG IS NOW A VIDEO ... The song "Today", about the plight of shelter dogs from their viewpoint, has now become a video. Written by Mike Raab, the song "Today" was recorded by the Ransom Creek Band, a group of inmates at Pender Correctional Medium Security Prison in Burgaw, North Carolina, as part of the Pawsitive Partners Prison Program. With photos by noted animal photographer Dick Parrott, the video for "Today" can be below.
